Common use cases and example apps
These examples show what you can build with ActiveCampaign, each with a prompt to start from. How to connect ActiveCampaign
Who can create ActiveCampaign connections depends on your plan and workspace settings. App + chat connectors are available by default. On Business and Enterprise plans, Who can create connections and clients starts at Admins. Some Enterprise workspaces start at No one, which disables the connector. An admin or owner changes it in Connectors → Admin settings → App + chat connectors. You can create multiple ActiveCampaign connections for different accounts, such as a test account and your production account. When the connection is created, you can link it to the projects where you want to use it. Anyone building in a project can ask Lovable in the project chat to link their project to it.Prerequisites
Before connecting ActiveCampaign, make sure you have:- An ActiveCampaign account with access to Settings → Developer
- Your ActiveCampaign API URL on
api-us1.comand the API key from the same account - Permission to create connections in your Lovable workspace (see Who can create connections and clients)
ActiveCampaign bills your account directly. Your ActiveCampaign
plan determines contact limits, email
sending limits, and segmentation features.
Step 1: Get your ActiveCampaign API URL and key
Your API URL identifies the account to connect. Your API key gives Lovable access through your ActiveCampaign user account.1
Open your ActiveCampaign account
Sign in to the ActiveCampaign account you want to connect.
2
Open Developer settings
Go to Settings → Developer.
3
Copy the API URL and key
Copy the API URL and Key shown on the page. Use the full API URL provided by ActiveCampaign, rather than your account’s sign-in address. Each ActiveCampaign user has their own key. If you delete that user or reset their key, update the credentials in Lovable.
Step 2: Connect ActiveCampaign to Lovable
Use the API URL and key from the same ActiveCampaign account in the connection form.1
Open ActiveCampaign in Connectors
Open Connectors and select ActiveCampaign. For the other places to open the catalog from, see Where to find connectors.
2
Add a connection
Click Connect on the connector page. The form is split into collapsible sections, Details, Configure connection, and Sharing.
3
Name the connection
Under Details, Lovable fills in a name for the connection, which you can change. The name is only used inside Lovable to identify the connection.
4
Configure the connection
Under Configure connection, enter both required fields:
- API URL: paste your account’s API URL, such as
https://youraccount.api-us1.com. - API key: paste the key from Settings → Developer.
/api/3 suffix.5
Choose who can use this connection
Under Sharing, the connection is private to you by default and shows a Private label. To share it, click Share with others. Then add workspace members by email, or click Invite entire workspace to make the connection available to everyone in your Lovable workspace.See Who can use connections and clients for more information.
6
Connect
Click Connect at the bottom of the form. Lovable verifies the credentials against the ActiveCampaign API before saving the connection. If the credentials are rejected, Lovable does not create the connection. Configure connection reopens with the error. Check that the API URL and key belong to the same account.
Limitations
The ActiveCampaign connector cannot:- Connect to API URLs outside
api-us1.com. - Change the account API URL on an existing connection. Create a new connection to use a different account.
- Support per-end-user ActiveCampaign login. Each connection represents a single ActiveCampaign account shared across all projects linked to it.
Manage your ActiveCampaign connection
Connections are managed from Connectors: select ActiveCampaign, then open the connection.- Unlink projects to remove ActiveCampaign access from specific projects while keeping the connection available for others. See Unlink projects from a connection for the steps.
- Delete the connection to remove it from the workspace entirely. Deleting is permanent. It removes the credentials from all linked projects, and app features that use ActiveCampaign stop working until a new connection is added. See Delete a connection for the steps and who can delete.
